Job Summary:
Medical Assistants are an integral part of the Kids Plus medical team. As the front line of our clinical experience, you will be responsible for communicating with patients and parents about the reason for their visit, checking vital signs, administering injections, delivering treatments, running internal labs, preparing external lab specimens, performing lab proficiency testing, and working alongside our providers to deliver exceptional patient care. You will multitask with ease, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and pay constant attention to detail. We are looking for someone who has prior clinical experience, with prior pediatric clinical experience being ideal. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high quality patient experience and a safe patient environment
- Perform and document patient intake vitals and interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation and update medical records
- Prepare patients for clinician examination, ensure clinician orders are performed and accurately documented
- Perform and document vaccine and medication reconciliation, vaccine cold change management, and proper patient identifiers, buddy process validation as per policies
- Complete patient follow-up and tasks assigned to meet patient needs
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred but not required
- Medical Assistant experience with MA Diploma/Certification in a healthcare setting preferred
- Active BLS certification required
- Proficiency in electronic health recordkeeping systems
