PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Director of Communication implements, monitors, and evaluates communications strategy, products, and processes, including internal PAFC communication, patient communication, promotions, and special projects to support the marketing and communication objectives and maximize the use of communication best practices for both the enterprise and patients and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for planning, development, implementation, and measurement of communication strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both internal and external.
  2. Direct the efforts of the marketing communications staff and coordination at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.
  3. Develop and implements communications and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to patients and families.
  4. Lead team of staff including Internal Communication Manager and communication specialists, in the creation and implementation of marketing, communications and content strategies with the primary goals of providing relevant, timely information to current patients and staff.
  5. Develop and lead an annual communications plan, including defining and tracking target metrics across multiple platforms to measure and analyze the level of engagement, assess the effectiveness of the plan, and provide strategic direction to reach set goals.
  6. Provide project management for communications channels and activities, including, but not limited to PA e-newsletters, social media, print collateral, and HomeBase/Sharepoint.
  7. Oversees, edits/approves communications materials.
  8. Tracks and presents performance of marketing and content engagement; contributes to routine evaluation and data analysis; proactively makes improvements to existing strategies to increase success over time.
  9. Collaborates with regional communications staff and other functional area leaders to strengthen connections and engagement with PA Family of Companies and key stakeholders.
  10. Develops, implements, and oversees organizational content development/editorial style and guidelines.
  11. Directs the communication plans and strategy for all new initiatives and rollouts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the Manager of Internal Communication, Internal Communication Specialist, and Patient Communication Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in related field required, Masters degree is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of Communications related experience required
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Health care experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership

  • Proficiency with MS Office/Office 365
